Relationship Readiness Intensives for Individuals

Remove the internal barriers that make intimacy and couples work feel overwhelming.

Sometimes the problem isn’t the relationship itself - it’s what happens inside you when closeness, conflict, or vulnerability comes up.

The Relationship Readiness Intensive is a short-term, trauma-informed program for individuals who want meaningful relationship change but feel anxious, reactive, shut down, or overwhelmed when intimacy or conflict arises.

This work is designed to prepare you for successful couples work by addressing the internal patterns that make connection feel unsafe or unmanageable.

Who This Intensive Is For

This intensive is most effective for individuals who:

  • Want to move into couples work, but don’t feel ready yet

  • Notice anxiety, shutdown, or emotional flooding during conflict or intimacy

  • Struggle to express needs or boundaries without escalating or withdrawing

  • Feel pressure, fear, or performance anxiety around physical intimacy

  • Want to break long-standing patterns before they sabotage deeper work

Many people in this program are in relationships where one partner is ready to “do the work,” but something internally keeps getting in the way.

This intensive exists to address that - not to push you faster than your system is ready to go.

Why Readiness Matters Before Couples Work

Couples work often fails, not because people don’t care - but because one or both partners are operating in survival mode.

When anxiety, trauma responses, or emotional overwhelm are present:

  • Conflict escalates quickly

  • Intimacy feels pressured or unsafe

  • Communication shuts down

  • Insight doesn’t translate into change

  •

This intensive focuses on stabilizing those internal responses first, so couples work can be effective rather than destabilizing.

Readiness isn’t resistance.

It’s information.

What This Intensive Focuses On

Over four structured individual sessions, you’ll work on:

  • Understanding how past experiences shape your reactions, anxiety, desire, and comfort with closeness

  • Learning how to express needs and boundaries clearly without shutting down or escalating

  • Building practical skills to regulate emotions and stay grounded during difficult moments

  • Developing a trauma-informed framework for approaching physical intimacy in ways that support safety - not pressure or performance

This work is not about “fixing” you.

It’s about helping your nervous system and emotional patterns support the kind of relationship you want.

What This Program Is (and Is Not)

This intensive is:

  • Structured and time-limited

  • Trauma-informed and clinically grounded

  • Focused on preparation and capacity-building

  • Designed to support future couples work

This intensive is not:

  • Ongoing individual therapy

  • A substitute for couples work

  • A place to process endlessly without direction

  • A requirement to continue into another program

Its purpose is readiness - not resolution.

How This Fits Into the Bigger Picture

Most individuals who complete this intensive continue into the 90-Day Relationship Reset once these internal barriers are addressed.

By doing this work first:

  • Couples sessions feel safer and more productive

  • Communication becomes more regulated and effective

  • Intimacy feels less pressured and more authentic

  • Long-standing patterns are less likely to derail progress

This intensive is designed to increase the likelihood that couples work actually works.

A Clear Way Forward

If part of you wants deeper connection, but another part feels overwhelmed, guarded, or unsure, there’s nothing wrong with that.

This intensive offers a way to slow things down just enough to build capacity, clarity, and confidence, so the next phase of work doesn’t feel like too much.

When you’re ready to approach relationships with more steadiness and less fear, this is a place to begin.

Start With a Relationship Strategy Session.

We’ll determine together whether this intensive is the right next step.
